Effiom Esua, Director of ARX Engineers

I want to be honest with you about why I started this practice.

I've spent eight years in structural engineering and I've seen what the industry often gets wrong: clients treated as transactions, homeowners left confused by jargon, architects chasing engineers who don't return calls. I built ARX to be different from all of that.

When you work with me, I answer my phone. I explain things in plain English. If something is going to be a problem, I tell you early — not after the fact. If your vision isn't structurally possible the way you've imagined it, I don't just say no — I find you a way forward.

That's not a sales pitch. It's just how I think engineering should work. Every client — the homeowner removing a wall for the first time, the architect on their tenth project with me — gets the same thing: my full attention and my genuine best.

That's the promise. I keep it.

I anticipate, I don't just react.
You shouldn't need to know the right questions to ask a structural engineer. I ask them for you. Problems that I can see coming get flagged early — not after they've cost you time or money.

I speak plainly, always.
No mystification. No jargon to make the work seem more complicated than it is. I explain what I'm designing, why it matters, and what it means for your build — in language that makes sense.

I'm reachable. Genuinely.
Every enquiry gets a response the same day. Every question gets a proper answer. I know your project matters to you — that means it matters to me too. That's not a policy. It's just basic respect.

No is never just no.
If something can't be done the way you've imagined it, I tell you why — and then I find an alternative. There's always a way forward. My job is to find it with you, not to hand it back unsolved.
